Within the arts lies a powerful but largely untapped force for healing. The arts and science are two sides of the same coin, which is our shared humanity. Our ability to live fulfilling healthy lives depends on bringing these two forces together”
(Vikek Murthy, MD, MBA, 19th Surgeon General of the United States).

About Play Therapy

Wendy Goetze, play therapist
What is Play Therapy?

Play Therapy is generally employed with children ages 3 through 11 and provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. As children's experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others. (from Wikipedia)

Note: Art Therapy is more commonly used with older children and adults. As an art therapist and play therapist who works with adults and children, Wendy uses whatever techniques are best suited for the particular person she is working with.

Wendy is a registered member of the following play therapy organizations:
Canadian Association of Play Therapy

About Prayer Counselling

Sometimes we just need to pray through life situations. At Kinderhaven, if you want to walk through any part of your life with prayer, you just have to ask. Together we can lift up your concerns, let go of your burdens and seek freedom through prayer.

About Art Therapy

Art Therapy combines the creative and therapeutic processes, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. It is beneficial to anyone from 3 to 100 plus! (adapted from CATA webpage)
